Today we learned about the Dolly zoom also known as the vertigo effect. It creates a zooming-in effect for a viewer and quickly grasps their attention. We then performed it ourselves.

Planning: Location Research.

Today, my crew and I went out to choose the sites where each scene will be shot. We chose my neighborhood since it would be simple for us to all get together and film here. We settled on four primary locations: Samrah's house, the shopping center nearby, the park adjacent to it, and a road just next to it. The Park: The shopping center: The road: Samrah's house:

Understanding Film Genres.

A genre categorizes movies. Categorizing movies makes it easier for the viewer to discover what he or she likes and will want to see. Genre consists of four elements or parts: character, story, plot and setting. There are 8 main film genre in the film industry; Action, Comedy, Drama, Fantasy, Horror, Mystery, Romance and Thriller. All of these genre can be adjusted through the the conventions of camera work, sound used in the film, the mise-en-scene and editing.

Planning: Change in cast.

After careful deliberation, me and my team have recently decided that we would rather be the actors then use people outside of the team as we think it will be harder for communication and bringing the vision that we have in mind to life. Also us being composite students, we are on a time crunch and do not think using outside actors will work with our timetables.
