A genre categorizes movies. Categorizing movies makes it easier for the viewer to discover what he or she likes and will want to see. Genre consists of four elements or parts: character, story, plot and setting. There are 8 main film genre in the film industry; Action, Comedy, Drama, Fantasy, Horror, Mystery, Romance and Thriller. All of these genre can be adjusted through the the conventions of camera work, sound used in the film, the mise-en-scene and editing.
